A FEATURE FILM proposal.
The Far Mountains is a new feature film proposal from Iranian-British artist and filmmaker Mitra Tabrizian with Shahab Hosseini (winner of Best Actor Award at Cannes 2016 for Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar winning The Salesman).
Set against the backdrop of a small town in Iran, The Far Mountains is a powerful and unusual coming-of-age story, with echoes of Antonioni’s L’Avventura (1960) and Hitchcock’s The Birds (1963).
The film is an allegory for the current situation in Iran.
When Ali, a troubled 12 year old boy living in a small town in Iran, loses the injured bird he's been diligently caring for, he sets out to take revenge regardless of the consequences.
